Hard to imagine that the temple of commerce known as Devonshire Mall was once the site of a massive Horse Racing track, known as the Devonshire Racetrack.
Michigan once banned horse racing, which led to an earlier stage of Windsor being Detroit’s place to get what you couldn’t get at home. Three racetracks once graced our fair city in the 1920’s. The Windsor Jockey Club (today’s Jackson Park), Devonshire (today a mall) and nearly across the street from Devonshire, Kenilworth (today home to a Sub-division).
