One architectural style, that mostly bypassed the city is the brutalist style, heavy on concrete and large foreboding massing, there are few buildings that could fall into this category. However the main campus building at St Clair College is a great example of the style. This postcard from the campus’ early days doesn’t do justice to the building. Designed by local architects Johnson + McWhinnie, along with the firm Crosby and Hiliker, this is one of Windsor’s most important, predominantly concrete structures.

The brick facade certainly softens the look of the building, If it was left as bare concrete it would look like a parking structure.
