I noticed tonight that the old neon sign gracing the Maiden Lane side of the Lazare’s Furs building is starting to look a little worse for wear. The two older photos date from about 2008 & 2009. Granted they’re looking at the other side of the sign. I’ll have to see if I can locate an older photo of the back side of the sign.
It’s likely the oldest sign in the city, still in place, it’s probably at least 75 years old. Hopefully it one days sees a restoration.
